The aim of the project is the implementation of an OPS system (Onshore Power Supply) on the Balearic Wharf of the Port of Tarragona. This infrastructure will allow the electrical connection of cruise ships while they are docked, so it will not be necessary for their auxiliary generators to operate during their stay, significantly reducing pollutant emissions and noisein the port environment.

The OPS system on the Balearic Islands wharf is expected to have an estimated maximum capacity of 20MVA. Initially, the installation will operate with 8MVA, being scalable up to 20MVA in a second phase. The connection to the cruise ships will be made at medium voltage (either at 6.6kV or 11kV, depending on the requirements of the ship) and with a frequency of 50Hz or 60Hz, using two modular lines and connection points, using a cable management system with e-chain technology.

The planned voltage supply for ships will be flexible and will meet IEC/ISO/IEEE 80005-1 standards.

The main objective of the project is the development of the intermodal rail terminal in the Puerto Centro de Guadalajara–Marchamalo zone. With a total area of 150,000 m2 extending along a strip on the eastern edge of the ‘Ciudad de Transporte Puerta Centro’, the Port Tarragona Terminal Guadalajara–Marchamalo will have 8 km of Iberian-gauge track; two reception and dispatch tracks for trains over 750 m long and a passing loop; three 750-m-long loading and unloading tracks; over 100,000 m² of paved surface area for loading, unloading, stacking and other activities; a 100-m² technical building and a secure enclosed area.

The aim of the project is to implement the new European Entry/Exit System (EES) at the Port of Tarragona. The EES is an automated computer system that allows non-EU nationals travelling for short stays to be registered each time they cross the external borders of any of the European countries using the system.

The installation of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of warehouses A, B, and C at the Moll de Castilla, as well as on the sheds at the Moll de Costa, are actions framed within the strategic objectives of improving energy efficiency and decarbonizing the Port of Tarragona. This project expands the area dedicated to photovoltaic energy within port facilities, continuing previous initiatives also funded by FEDER funds, such as the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of the shelters at the Moll de Costa.
