The Tarros shipping line docks for the first time in DP World Tarragona

A container service from Turkey to Tarragona every ten days

The Port of Tarragona container terminal, DP World Tarragona, has begun a new maritime container service with the Tarros shipping line (www.tarros.it). Founded in Italy in 1828, it is a leader in logistics services through its network of agencies around the Mediterranean. The line provides a connection between Tarragona and Turkey and favours the high volume of trade between the two countries.

The service began this month with the aim of meeting the import and export needs of companies in various sectors, including polymers, chemicals, machinery, paper and agri-foods, mainly from the provinces of Tarragona, Lleida, Barcelona, Zaragoza and the south of Navarra. The two parties have also confirmed their interest in continuing to investigate and seek out new sectors to which they can offer their services.

The Tarros line to Tarragona will run every ten days calling at Turkey’s main ports: Gemlik, Istanbul, Gebze, Aliaga (Izmir) and Mersin.

The 132-metre-long vessel Holandia with capacity of 900 TEU docked for the first time in Tarragona last Saturday 13 April and the operation was a complete success. This is evidence of the excellent predisposition of Tarros and DP World Tarragona and provides continuity to a necessary high-quality service in the Tarragona area.
