The work is expected to be completed at the beginning of next year
Work began today on the renovation of the Seafront Promenade. The plan calls for a remodelling of the area of the new footbridge to adapt it to the new connection between the city and the waterfront. In this way, the promenade, together with the nearby port facilities for public use –the marina, the Llevant Wharf and the Costa Wharf leisure-cultural zone– will be easier to reach and will take on a more urban use, more for the townspeople and more pedestrian-friendly.
The characteristics of the urbanisation project are as follows:
Surfacing of a road with one lane in each direction
A bicycle lane
A wider pavement for pedestrians
Trees and gardens
New street lighting
The cost of the project is 850,000 euros + VAT and the period of execution is nine months.
Both vehicles and pedestrians will be able to move freely through the area during the works and access to the beach will not be affected.
