This week the Port of Tarragona took part in the 5th Platts European Petrochemicals Conference, the most important petrochemical industry conference in Europe. Its purpose was to promote Tarragona as a Mediterranean hub port. Over two days, this unique event brought together the sector’s most influential top executives to discuss the regional petrochemical market and to evaluate the current growth in refined products and the evolution of trade flows. The conference was also invaluable in offering an overall view of the commodities market, olefins, aromatic products and polymers.
The Port participated in this conference as the sponsor of the networking cocktails area and marketing director Genoveva Climent gave a speech at the close of the first day to inaugurate it. Also participating was one of the Port of Tarragona’s terminal concession holders, Vopak Terquimsa. Its marketing director, Josep Forcadell, joined a panel of logistics experts to debate the current challenges and opportunities facing the warehousing sector, placing special emphasis on the opportunities in the Mediterranean and promoting the facilities available in Tarragona. Pere Ranera, the manager of Tepsa, also attended the conference.
