The sixth Tarragona Port Police Day was held this week, at the Teatret del Serrallo, under the slogan 'Port Police: people with a commitment'. The event aims to highlight the importance of the safety and prevention work carried out by the police in the port area and the surrounding areas of the city.
The ceremony was attended by the chairman of the Port of Tarragona, Josep Andreu, the director general of the Port Authority, Ramon Ignacio Garcia, the director of Public Domain and Port Security, Josep Lluis Díez, and the Administrator in Chief of the Port Police, Joan Bergadà.
The event included the awarding of various acknowledgments to members of the force, either for their professional career, in recognition of their commendable performances or notable specific services, or for devising, managing and implementing new processes and protocols that have resulted in an improvement to this force's functions.
Certain members of the staff of the APT have also been recognised for their collaboration with the Port Police force over the past year. The plaques have been presented in recognition of tasks related to the field of the Port’s self-protection plan, the completion and updating of the mapping of the Port’s facilities, the implementation and improvement of new technologies and I.T. systems, the organising of events linked to the security force, the visual and corporate identity of its mobile fleet or the management of human resources destined for the Port Police.
