The “Sea of Families” family day starts at 10:30 am on May 13th 2017 on the Port of Tarragona’s Moll de Costa dock.
This family leisure day is organised jointly by the Tarragona Regional Council and the Port of Tarragona to commemorate 25 years of regional social services in the Tarragona area and the 17th anniversary of the Port of Tarragona Museum. Also collaborating are the Generalitat de Catalunya’s Department of Employment, Social Affairs and Families, Tarragona County Council, Tarragona Area Sports Council, the Tarragona Association of Civil Protection Volunteers and The Private Foundation "En Xaraxa".
This event is aimed at all children from 6 to 12 years old (primary education) and their families participating in the socio-educational intervention services - Open Centres and Socio-educational Action workshops (Tallers d'Acció Socioeducativa TASTA) from the Tarragona and Vila-seca Basic Area, along with their educational teams. The aim of the Sea of Families is to promote educational and family leisure, as well as helping the residents of the different municipalities in the region learn more about the Port and its Museum.
A variety of activities are planned, including storytelling, gymkhanas, workshops, games and artistic expression activities. Some of these activities, in particular the tales and the workshops, will be open, on payment of a small registration fee at the information area, for children of this age to participate accompanied by their mothers and/or fathers.
The day’s closing event will consist of a children's show by the band "El Rovell d'Ou" which is also open to all families of the city who want to join in.
