L’ARGUS Petrochemical Markets Event i Expoquimia centren l’Assemblea de ChemMed

The ARGUS Petrochemical Markets Event and Expoquimia are the focus of the ChemMed Assembly

The Port Authority building was the venue this afternoon for the Mandating General Assembly for the Chemical Cluster, ChemMed Tarragona, a body grouping together all the stakeholders in the area related to the sector. The Chairman of the Cluster and of the AEQT, Josep Francesc Font, and Vice-chairman of ChemMed and Chairman of the Port of Tarragona, Josep Andreu, were charged with starting off the meeting, which was well represented by both public and private institutions. As established by the agenda for the day, the Assembly was an opportunity to approve the accounts for the 2016, to submit the budget for 2017, to take stock of the activities carried out the previous year and to present the action plan for the year in progress.

In this last point, attention was drawn to the fact that Tarragona will host one of the major international events of the petrochemical sector next week. The prestigious consulting firm ARGUS Dewitt has chosen Tarragona as the site for one of the major international conferences in the industry, where the main players in the sector will come together to discuss changes in global product flows and the integration of supply chains. This event will also be an opportunity to provide information about the Tarragona ChemMed cluster model, as well as the investment possibilities offered by the region. The conference that ARGUS will organise in the city will provide an opportunity to promote companies in the area and attract the attention of companies from outside Europe. Within the framework of the business plan for the internationalisation of the Tarragona ChemMed cluster, it has been decided to pledge support for the holding of international events for the sector in the city, with the aim of promoting the Tarragona chemical and petrochemical site and the infrastructures that the Port of Tarragona offers the sector.

In this same line, the Cluster’s participation has peen proposed in Expoquimia 2017, the trade fair that brings together the main international players in the chemical sector in Barcelona every three years. For the second year in a row ChemMed will be part of the 'Smart Chemistry, Smart Future’ project which Feique organises and coordinates. This global meeting will be held at the Fira de Barcelona from the 2nd to 6th of October.

Other notable events that will take place this year were also highlighted, such as the meeting of ACCIO directors, which brings together the delegates of this institution on an international level, or the conference that will be organised in June with Ferrmed in support of a Mediterranean Corridor.
