The Port of Tarragona presents the awards for the 4th Short Narrative Prize from the 25 works collected in a digital edition

On Thursday April 20th, in the afternoon, the function room of the TPA building was the scene of the award ceremony for the 4th Port of Tarragona Short Narrative Prize, which was attended by Marta Virgili, head of Institutional Relations and Chairperson of the Port of Tarragona, Esther Ferré, chairperson of the panel of judges, and Sílvia Rodes, director of the Generalitat de Catalunya’s Territorial Education Services.
After the success of previous years, the 4th Port of Tarragona Short Narrative Prize arrives at its fourth year remaining true to its aim of encouraging young people in aspects such as the Catalan language, the imagination and the interest in maritime and port-related themes. This time there has been a higher level of participation than last year, with a total of 68 works presented from among 8 educational centres.
These awards are the result of a project organised jointly with the Generalitat’s Department of Education, and the aim is to foster a greater awareness of the Port of Tarragona in as many educational centres in the Tarragona area as possible.
From a total of 68 works received, the unanimous decision of the panel of judges, dated April 3rd, was:
1st. A-level Prize, for Sergi Robert, with the piece entitled 'A city marked by the sea'- ‘Una ciutat marcada per la mar’
1st. Prize/ESO 1st cycle, for Helena Nebot, with 'The diary of the seagull'- ‘El diari de la gavina’
1er. Prize/ESO 2nd cycle, for Nerea Guinart, with 'Impassable' -‘Impassible’
2nd. A-level Prize, for Marta Cabrera, with ‘The seagull soul’- 'L'ànima de la gavina'
2nd Prize/ESO 1st cycle, for Bernat Pitarch, with 'The sweet toing and froing of the sea'-‘El dolç anar i venir de la mar’
2nd Prize/ESO 2nd cycle, for Núria Domènech, with ‘At five past five at Dock Shed Number 5’-‘A les cinc i cinc al tinglado número 5’
The verdict of the panel of judges has reflected the quality of the works received, and for this reason 19 have been selected, in addition to the 6 winners, with the aim of creating a digital edition that collects the best works of this 4th Port of Tarragona Short Narrative Prize. The edition will be completed during September of this year.
