NAME OF PROJECT: Development of the Connection Lyon-Madrid on the Mediterranean Corridor
ACRONYM: CLYMA
EUROPEAN PROGRAMME: TEN-T. Currently within Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for Transport Programme
ROLE OF THE TARRAGONA PORT AUTHORITY: Partner
DURATION: 15 March 2013- 31 December 2015
BUDGET: 2.258.000 €
In the global framework of the Mediterranean Corridor, included in the Trans European Network for Transport (RTE-T), CLYMA activity centres on the analysis of the transport of goods between Lyon and Madrid, in order to facilitate a coordinated development of the Core Network for European transport.
Therefore, the CLYMA Project includes studies on the organization and the implementation of the concept of the corridor, taking to account the long term perspectives, environmental aspects and the needs of the different agents associated with transport. It also concerns itself with the promotion of environmental sustainability, the efficient management of resources and low emission transport within the framework of integrated inter-modality.
All this should lead to stimulating the concept of a green corridor as indicated in the logistics Action Plan for the transport of goods. In sum, the Project aims to develop an effective management structure for the Corridor.
