The aims of this Project are:
- Extend the current Tarragona-Barcelona service to reach Perpignan.
- Permit a modal change for more rail networks toward the rest of Europe (France, Germany, Benelux, etc.).
- Achieve a modal change from road to rail in the transport of goods between Spain and France in order to strengthen and guarantee the supply chain avoiding over-saturated road transport routes and to establish an annual fee, which in turn guarantees cost stability and avoids the constant increases in fuel taxes, motorway fees, etc.
- Consolidate the HUB of the Ports of Barcelona and Tarragona as a Logistics Platform for Southern Europe and as an entrance for Asian goods.
