Accreditation Office

The Accreditation Office is responsible for managing the administrative process involved in certifying a company/organisation whose activity is connected to the Port, in order to accredit this company/organisation’s direct or indirect collaborators.

The Accreditation Office issues, renews and deregisters the access cards that allow passage through the automatic control for entering/exiting the Port zone.

In the case of employees of land transport companies (SIT members), in addition to their use in entering/exiting the Port of Tarragona, the access cards also enable holders to benefit from the process of releasing paperless documents (RPD) for imported goods (customs area).

Latest updates on accreditation

Access to the Chemicals and Hydrocarbons Dock

Special accreditation for the Chemicals and Hydrocarbons Dock

Anyone wishing to access the Chemicals or Hydrocarbons docks will have to apply for a specific permit. This access permit must be requested and documented in advance either via e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by a written communication submitted to the registry of the Tarragona Port Authority.

The company will have to provide proof of its legitimate interest in accessing these docks by means of a document linking it to a resident company, chandler or shipping agent. By way of a guideline, the company will be able to accredit the legitimate interest by means of a contract to provide services or by means of a responsible declaration demonstrating its employment or contractual relationship with one of the residents in these docks or with any third party company (chandler/shipping agent, etc.) that regularly provides services in these areas.

Once the documentation has been provided, the Port Authority needs to verify this interest, and having done so successfully, will then proceed to enable the accreditations of personnel so that they can access these docks.

General considerations regarding Accreditacion

Whether it is the accreditation of a new collaborator, and regardless of the type it might be (regular or occasional), or the renewal of their permit for a new period, the company will have to justify the employment relationship by means of a legally valid document (for example, TC2, employment or commercial contract, etc.). The document may be original or a certified copy.

The renewal of a collaborator’s accreditation for a new period of time, assuming the access card they already possess is still in good condition, carries a fee of 20.00 €. Should the access card need replacing, the cost will be 31.00 €

The issue of the fourth or subsequent access card of the Occasional Collaborator type in the same month carries a fee of 10.00 €, except in those cases in which the TPA does not allow the person to be accredited as a Regular Collaborator due to the characteristics of their professional activity.  The issue of the fourth or subsequent access card of the Non-pre-registered Drivers, or Registred but with documentation incompleted,  in the same month carries a fee of 31.00 €

The issuing of the fourth or subsequent access card of the Non-pre-registered Visitor type in the same month carries a fee of 10.00 € each time.
