The Pearl II belonging to Saga Cruises is the first of 55 vessels expected to make stopovers in our city this year

At seven o’clock this morning, the first cruise ship of 2018 docked in the Port of Tarragona, heralding an unprecedented cruise season. It is the Pearl II belonging to Saga Cruises. It arrived from Barcelona and at six o’clock this evening it will set sail for Cádiz. The Pearl II is 164.35 m long and carries 341 passengers, most of them British, and 184 crew.

The Pearl II is the first of the 55 cruise ships expected to make stopovers this year in the Port of Tarragona, a 49% increase on last year (37 vessels). The expected number of passengers this year is also considerably higher at 80,000, 56% more than in 2017 (more than 51,000).

The next cruise ship will arrive in the Port of Tarragona on 3 April at 12 noon from Cartagena and will set sail at midnight for Barcelona. It will be the Berlin belonging to FTI with a length of 139 m and a capacity of 412 persons.
