 TRAINING

The Port of Tarragona’s Open Catalan Service

The Open Catalan Service (Servei Obert de Català - SOC) is a service with resources for learning the Catalan language and is characterised by the fact that the learner can set the schedule, the learning goals (a self-learning course or a course in person or on line) and the pace of study. It can be used by all the staff of the Port of Tarragona.  This service provides a selection of the main Catalan self-learning materials, and offers the possibility of learning Catalan when and how the learner wishes, and where the user can find a number of resources and materials for learning Catalan and an adviser who guides and advises them. Self-learning is a system designed to learn Catalan more quickly, if you wish to refresh your knowledge of the Catalan language, maintain the knowledge you have acquired, don't have a fixed schedule for study, or have not found any course that will suit you for reasons of place, time, level, etc.

Resources you can find: computer programs, audio and video tapes, reference books (grammar books and dictionaries), recorded dictations, self-correcting exercise cards, examples and guidelines for those preparing to take Catalan tests, and self-assessment methods.
