PortAutors, second edition of a musical competition at the service of the region’s musical talent

The registration period is open until 15 September

The Teatret del Serrallo in the Port of Tarragona is nearing the end of the registration period for the second edition of the PortAutors artistic exhibition to be held on Saturday 16 November 2019. The music competition is seeking to consolidate the success of the first edition last year, which attracted large audiences, who enjoyed a high standard of musical quality in the works performed. The registration period for PortAutors is open until 15 September.

The competition is open to musicians over eighteen who do not have a current recording contract. The compositions must be written and performed by the competitor. They can be in any musical style, instrumentation and language. The competition rules are available on the Port of Tarragona official website.

Territory and talent

The main objective of PortAuthors is to discover the talent in our region and to highlight the artistic potential of the participants. The finalists will be given the opportunity to have a professional video recording made of their songs, which they will be able to show and use to promote themselves. These recordings will take place on the first weekend in October this year.

The competition jury will consist of professionals from scenic arts and the music industry. They will choose the six finalists and four reserves from the demos presented by all the candidates in the initial registration phase. In this way the music festival musical will provide an opportunity for those artistes who wish to enter the world of music, organise concerts and participate in the different musical programmes and events that take place around the region.

The Teatret is in the former Pòsit de Pescadors (Fish Market) building. It is administered by the Port of Tarragona’s Port-City Department, which is responsible for organising the cultural, social, educational and institutional events held in the port.
