2019

Tomorrow, Thursday 21 March, the Port of Tarragona will participate in the National Meeting of Cereal Operators (ENOC) held annually in Zaragoza. The meeting is organised by the Cereal and Oilseed Trade Association (ACCOE) and has the support of different associations and some of the main businesses in the sector. It is one of the sector’s most important meetings and is supported every year by Port of Tarragona sponsorship.

It is a networking opportunity that once a year brings together more than 500 participants from Spain and abroad. It is conceived and designed to offer operators the possibility of fostering commercial and business relations. After each talk or discussion there is a space that provides a suitable atmosphere for strengthening trading links and making new contacts.

During the meeting there will be different talks and debates on the economic trends in the post-global environment and the 2018/2019 commercial campaign will be discussed.

Port of Tarragona: leadership in the agri-food sector

The Tarragona port infrastructure maintains its undisputable leadership in the handling of agri-food products in both Spain and the Mediterranean, contributing to that economic sector thanks to its specialist services and infrastructures that facilitate imports. It is one of the main cargo types handled by the Port of Tarragona, both for its volume −an average of some 5 million tons annually− and the important facilities and economic repercussions in the region.

To store these products, the Port has 230,000 m2 of covered surface area. Moreover, the Port of Tarragona’s high degree of specialisation in agri-foods allows it to work with a wide variety of agri-food products and subproducts (more than 70), which is why our port is in an outstanding position with respect to the rest of European ports.
