The figures for the first quarter of 2018 place the Tarragona infrastructure among the top five ports in Spain

The Port of Tarragona has recovered its fifth position in the ranking of Spanish ports. The recent publication of the traffic figures for the first quarter of 2018 show the positive evolution of the Port (+5.15%), placing it in fifth position, only surpassed by Algeciras, Valencia, Barcelona and Bilbao.

If we analyse the data by cargo types, the Tarragona infrastructure is situated in fourth place in liquid bulks and in second place in solid bulks. In the latter, the Port surpassed the 2.5 Mt mark, a figure that is closely linked to its commitment to cereal traffic. Another example of this is the Second International Agri-food Congress held in the Port on 10 and 11 May, which was a great success in participation.

One of the areas that most stands out in the Port of Tarragona for the first quarter is imports (5.86 Mt), with a growth of 10.28%, a figure that places it in first place in the nationwide ranking.

The Port of Tarragona has the ability to continue growing in other sectors, maintaining its already consolidated positions and promoting new dynamics to foster innovation and efficiency.
