The International Logistics Exhibition closed its 19th event yesterday after three days of intense commercial activity, and with a large number of visitors. The Port of Tarragona celebrated Port Community Day on Wednesday, June 7th, at Stand C-348, where the companies that make up the port community were invited, as well as representatives of the region’s institutions.

The Port of Tarragona has fulfilled the business goals it set itself for this show: promoting the ‘La Boella' intermodal terminal, as well as promoting the development of the container terminal. Another key infrastructure for the Port is the Logistic Activities Area, which will complement the intermodal services on offer and will provide added value for the Port and for the region.

The Port of Tarragona – committed to intermodality

The Port of Tarragona is focusing its efforts on an intermodal strategy in order to maintain its leading position in the logistics sector. In this sense, it has made continued investments over the last few years that have enabled growth in the activity, thus becoming a more competitive and efficient Port with the aim of satisfying its clients.

It has recently completed the internal rail network, a development which situates the Port of Tarragona as one of the leading ports in Spain, with more kilometres for trains within its facilities, with 10.3 km of internal UIC standard gauge rail network and 46.3 km of Iberian gauge.

The Port of Tarragona’s logistic services area is a distinctive added value, since within a radius of a few kilometres there is a nucleus formed by the Port of Tarragona’s container terminal, the Border Inspection Post, the container scanner, the ‘La Boella' intermodal terminal and the nearby Logistical Activities Area.
