The Port of Tarragona is consolidating its position as a benchmark port in the Mediterranean in terms of special cargoes

The Port de Tarragona was present in Break Bulk Europe 2017, held in Antwerp (Belgium), for the fourth time running. The delegation from the Port of Tarragona, headed by the chairman Josep Andreu, who travelled accompanied by the Commercial and Business Development director, Genoveva Climent, and the head of intermodality, Beatriz Feced, held several meetings with potential clients, within the framework of the trade fair itself. The fair has served as a platform for the Tarragona Port facility to present itself as a benchmark port in the Mediterranean in project cargo.

The presence of the Port of Tarragona in this trade fair demonstrates its commitment to project cargo. The framework of the traffic growth and diversification strategy also includes the increasing trend towards break bulk project cargo (large items for factory equipment or components requiring on-board assembly). The Port of Tarragona is consolidating its clear willingness to contribute to the growth of this logistic sector, thereby providing new business opportunities for companies specialising in project cargo, as well as strengthening its position as one of the benchmark ports in the Mediterranean for this type of special cargoes.
