Saül Garreta Puig - President of Port Tarragona

Saül Garreta Puig (Tarragona, 1972) has been president of the Tarragona Port Authority since 2 November 2022. He has a Degree in Architecture specialising in building from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2000), a Professional Master's Degree in Territorial and Urban Studies organised by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the Pompeu Fabra University, and a seminar on Collaborative Leadership organised by Aracoop (2018).

He has worked as county architect for the Alt Camp County Council (2001), as manager of the property developer Grupo F20 (2004) and as the municipal architect for various municipalities. He was one of the promoters of the OPEN SPACE - ARCHITECTS FOR THE TERRITORY group of architects.

Manager of Garreta Arquitectos S.L., architecture and urban planning office, together with another partner, through which he undertook several public and private projects. President of Revive Solanell, a cooperative that recovered the abandoned village of Solanell in Alt Urgell county. Founding member of the La Fábrica de Transición cooperative, which is currently working on the recovery of a textile industrial colony in the Municipality of El Catllar that was chosen as one of the outstanding projects in the 2019 Urban Planning Agora and the most highly rated by HabitatCoop (2021). Among the latest outstanding projects is "Let’s repopulate Rocafort de Queralt", an initiative that aims to refurbish housing in the municipality in order to generate opportunities for young people, promote sustainability and create employment. Winning proposal of the Premis d'Arrelament 2021 awarded by the Catalan Association of Municipalities and Counties (ACM).

Ramón Ignacio García Rodríguez

Ramón Ignacio García Rodríguez has a degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, an MBA from Rovira i Virgili University and he also taken the IESE Port Management Programme Course.

A civil servant on leave of absence from the State Corps of Highway Engineers, he was employed by the Port of Tarragona Board of Works from 1989 to 1992 and in 1993 he joined the Tarragona Port Authority, where he has worked until the present day.

In the 2021 financial year his salary as Director General was 95.761,00 euros plus 7.333,16 euros in kind.(pending salary update of 2021)
