ChemMed Tarragona holds its annual meeting with the aim of promoting the chemical sector

The cluster highlights its resilience by continuing promotional actions through virtual events, despite the global situation caused by the pandemic

In 2021 it will feature the return of Expoquímia and a new edition of Hub Day

This Thursday, April 15, saw a new assembly of ChemMed Tarragona, the industrial, logistics, academic and scientific chemical sector cluster. In keeping with the current situation it was organised as an online event. The president of ChemMed Tarragona, Josep Maria Cruset (Port of Tarragona) and the vice-president, Rubén Folgado (AEQT), were charged with welcoming the attendees.

The most important activities of 2020 were presented at the assembly. These included the Fourth Med Hub Day, with more than 130 participants, and participation in the Sixth LNG Congress, an event focusing on the role of liquefied natural gas and part of the strategy of seeking new opportunities in the energy transition.

In 2021 it is hoped to see the return of Expoquímia, the international meeting of the chemical sector, which had to be cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic. It is expected to be held from 14 to 17 September at the Gran Via exhibition centre in Barcelona. The fifth edition of Hub Day is also planned for 2021.
