16TH EDITION OF THE APPORTT AWARDS

The awards recognise the task undertaken by the people and bodies working in the port sector in the area of the Port of Tarragona

The Port of Tarragona Promotion Group (APPORTT) this evening held the 16th edition of its annual awards, an initiative aimed at recognising the important task undertaken by the people, bodies and companies that devote their efforts to the port sector in the area of the Port of Tarragona.

The actions taken through their activity and work, as well as the projects, actions and strategies that stand out for their innovative nature, originality, projection and leadership, are marked by these awards that recognise the effort and meritorious task of their day-to-day work.

In the interest of motivating, stimulating and recognising those efforts, 16 years ago APPORTT decided to establish a series of awards to highlight the task undertaken by people, bodies and companies in their day-to-day work in the activity of the Port of Tarragona.

2018 AWARDS

*The most active company in the external projection of the Port of Tarragona: the Port of Tarragona Institutional Cruise Committee

For its international projection of the Port of Tarragona in the cruise sector, undertaking a task that benefits the whole region.

*Innovation and entrepreneurship: Elix Polymers

As a pioneering company in ABS products and derivative materials on a national and international scale.

*Professionalism and special dedication: Hyundai Motor España

For the company’s track record in the Port of Tarragona over the past twenty 20 years.

*Quality and sustainability: Bic Graphic Europe

For the BIC Group’s circular economy programme that allows for the recycling of ballpoint pens and other writing instruments.

*Special mention on its 125th anniversary: Azufrera y Fertilizantes Pallarès

On its 125th anniversary and for its track record in our region.

*Special mention for his dedication as president of the Port of Tarragona: Josep Andreu i Figueras

For his task as president of the Port of Tarragona from 2011 to 2018 that has allowed the Port to position itself as a leading Mediterranean port.

*Special mention for his contribution to the region: Albert Abelló Hierro, in memoriam

For having chaired and supported APPORTT, as well as for contributing to the development of companies in the region.
