Josep M. Cruset Domènech, new president of the Tarragona Port Authority

This Friday, 23 November, the Boletín Oficial del Estado (BOE – Official Gazette of the Government of Spain) published the appointment of Josep M. Cruset Domènech as president of the Tarragona Port Authority, as proposed by the Catalan Regional Government Minister of Territory and Sustainability, in accordance with Decree 250/2018 of 20 November, of the Catalan Regional Government. With this publication, Josep M. Cruset officially takes over from Josep Andreu as head of the Port of Tarragona.

Josep M. Cruset Domènech

Born in Riudoms in March 1975, he has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Higher Technical School of Chemical Engineering of the Rovira i Virgili University (ETSEQ), of which he is now a member of the Advisory Council. He subsequently obtained an MBA at the Rovira i Virgili University.

He specialises in business process and quality management and is a quality specialist for the Tarragona Provincial Government, in which he is a civil servant currently on leave of absence. He also participates in his family’s agriculture and aviculture business.

He has been mayor of Riudoms since 2007; between 2003 and 2007 he was a town councillor and between 2007 and 2009 a county councillor for Baix Camp county.

Since 2009 he has been an elected member of the Tarragona Provincial Government and since 2011 its vice president in charge of the Municipal Assistance Service.

He was a member of Assessment Committee for the Unified Works and Services Plan of Catalonia from 2013 to 2016 and member of the University Chair Promotional Group and Region of Knowledge of the Rovira i Virgili University.
