2018

The event will take place in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) on the coming 5th and 6th of February and will be an opportunity to promote Tarragona’s infrastructure as a hub port on the Mediterranean

The Port of Tarragona will participate at the 5th Platts European Petrochemicals Conference, the most important petrochemical conference in Europe This is a unique event that brings together the industry's most influential senior executives over two days to deepen their knowledge of the regional petrochemical market and evaluate the current growth in refined products and the evolution of trade flows, while offering an unparalleled overview of the markets for raw materials, olefins, aromatic products and polymers.

The Port is taking part in this conference as a sponsor of the networking drinks area, and sales manager Genevieve Clement will make a speech at the end of the first day to inaugurate it. Also taking part will be the company holding the concession for one of the terminals in the Port of Tarragona, Vopak Terquimsa, which will participate in a panel of experts discussing logistics.

European cracking operators have continued to enjoy healthy margins throughout 2017, since the low oil and gas prices continue to sustain the current boom, despite the strong imports into Europe from the Middle East, Russia and the US. The conference will attempt to discover whether the current dynamic will continue in 2018.

The Platts European Ptrochemicals Conference is attended by over 100 people belonging to major petrochemical companies such as Braskem, Evonik, Borealis, Solvay or Covestro, among others.
