“Disability has helped me get to know wonderful people”

As part of the commemoration of the week in which 'International Disability Day’ (December 3rd) is celebrated, the Port of Tarragona organised a conference entitled "Let’s talk about diversity", held on December 1st at 10:00 o'clock in the conference room of the Tarragona Port Authority.
The speaker, Claudia Tecglen, psychologist and president of the ‘Living with Spasticity’ Association talked to us about her own life history and current struggle. Claudia’s talk provided an opportunity for all the participants to reflect on the meaning of living and coexisting with a disability.
After her words, a 'pilot workshop' was prepared so that attendees could experience the challenges and obstacles faced by disabled people who, like Claudia, continue to struggle to be fully assimilated into society and to improve their everyday lives.
The Port of Tarragona has a serious commitment to the management of diversity. Transmitting the values for overcoming adversity, for people with any kind of disability, is the main goal of these conferences organised in the Port these past four years.
