This week has seen the completion of the formalities for opening up the renovation of the Marine Promenade to tender. Yesterday the Port of Tarragona’s board of directors accepted the changes in public domain land in favour of the Port approved recently in the City Council’s municipal plenum to open up the renovation project for the promenade to tender this November. The announcement of the invitation to tender for the work will therefore be made in the coming days, with the aim that the work, with an estimated duration of eight months, will commence at the beginning of 2018.
The work envisaged for this project is the renovation of the Platja Miracle Promenade in the area where the new aerial walkway is being constructed, in order to adapt it to the new conditions for connecting the seafront with the city, to ensure that the promenade, together with the closest Port installations used by the public, i.e. the Marina, the Llevant sea wall and the Moll de Costa dock leisure/cultural area, will achieve better access and acquire an improved usage for urban purposes, for the public and for pedestrians.
