The Port of Tarragona will participate in the Transport Logistic trade fair to be held in Munich from the 9th to the 12th of May. The city will host more than 2,000 exhibitors from the main representatives of the transport companies, logistics operators and companies providing maritime, road, rail and air services, and will receive more than 52,000 visitors.

A delegation from the Port of Tarragona, headed by the managing director of the Port of Tarragona, Ramón Ignacio García, will travel to Munich to present Tarragona’s Port infrastructure services, accompanied by companies belonging to the Port community. The Port of Tarragona’s stand will be located within the State Ports stand area.

Port infrastructures

Transport Logistic is an opportunity for the Port of Tarragona to promote its services to the top leaders of transport logistics and publicise its infrastructures, such as the container terminal, operated by DP World Tarragona, and the Port of Tarragona’s ‘La Boella’ intermodal terminal located in the centre of the Port facility’s logistics services area, and open to all the companies in the region.

The Port of Tarragona’s intermodal terminal is capable of receiving mixed gauge (UIC and Iberian) trains of up to 750 metres long, and is ready to move up to 250,000 TEUs a year.

Due to its privileged geo-strategic location and the important petrochemical cluster, Tarragona is one of the areas with the greatest growth potential. Even so, having an international gauge with direct connection from the Port of Tarragona to European markets is essential for the region to be able to make the most of the opportunities for growth and development, as well as helping to attract new investments to strengthen the growing role of Tarragona as a logistics hub in the Mediterranean.
